Apps, downloads and online programs – there are a lot of offers on the Internet for working with refugees. But how do you cope in this online jungle, how do you know if you’ve found reputable providers? These and other questions were discussed by the participants of the training course “Research Training” in Wülfrath.

In addition to helpful apps for arriving and settling in Germany  and practicing German, the language and reading mentors got to know online dictionaries and translation programs. With cell phones at the ready for immediate testing the participants followed the offers that Oliver Weidermann of the Evangelical Adult Education Center Rheinland Süd e.V. presented to them. In the second part of the evening, online search options and downloads for speech-learning materials were examined in more detail. The participants found the tips for handling online search engines especially helpful – they discovered many tips for faster and more effective finding. Afterwards, the participants had the chance to apply their new insights through practical research exercises.
