Between 21st and 24th of November 2019 the project partners will be presenting the “Sprachtreff” project during the 12th Bonner Buchmesse (book convention) Migration.

Every two years the book convention opens it gates in the “Haus der Geschichte” in Bonn. Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know different publishers, projects and initiatives that are dealing with issues of migration.

The event’s organizer is the Protestant Migration and Refugee Work / Integration Agency (EMFA) in cooperation with the Diakonie Bonn. This year’s motto is “Develop Diversity and live Democracy”. “Democracy without Diversity is unthinkable” says Hidir Celik, director of the EMFA. “Democracy and Diversity are integral building blocks of our society that are mutually enriching. Migrants and the receiving communities have always been in a dialogue about the acceptance and adherence to (civil) rights and responses to discriminations.” The book convention intends to be a platform for exchange, knowledge transfer and societal discourse.

“The convention is a wonderful opportunity to tell people about the wide range of activities that the “Sprachtreff” project offers and to further sensitize them about the topics of migration and integration” says Christian van den Kerckhoff, the managing director of the Bonn Insitute for Migration Studies (BIM).

At the exhibition stand visitors will find and overview of the project activities and achievements, browse the different media outlets and get to know the different project pilot locations.
